Ealtec industrial PCs powering the performance of Psycle solutions

Jean-Pierre Tardif, founder and CEO of Ealtec, explains why he has become Psycle’s main supplier of industrial computing hardware.

Could you introduce Ealtec in a few words?

Jean-Pierre Tardif: Ealtec is a French company specialising in industrial computing hardware. Our offering ranges from distributing standard products to designing and building custom products based on our customers’ specifications. Over 20 years, Ealtec has built close ties with component suppliers; we have direct access to their R&D departments, which allows us to have certain characteristics adapted to our needs.

How did you win Psycle over?

JPT: I think the main reason is that we really understood their needs. Psycle’s analysis software is an innovative product that can do a great deal with very short response times. It needs hardware capable of processing large amounts of data. At the same time, Psycle solutions run as close as possible to the machines and have to cope with the thermal constraints of industrial environments. We found a solution that combines computing performance with low heat dissipation.

We found the right balance between performance requirements and thermal constraints.

How is the relationship with Psycle built for the long term?

JPT: As a partnership – and at Ealtec, that is not an empty word. Our partnership covers the technical side as well as supply. We build up stock based on Psycle’s forecasts, because it is essential for securing supply given the severe shortages we are currently facing.
