The end-of-line packaging machinery specialist uses Psycle’s software development kit to build its own AI-assisted vision solutions. How does the Psycle SDK fit into the development of your vision offering?
Benoît Blein: We have been using machine vision for several years to guide our robots when picking products. We also use it for in-line quality control, but conventional solutions require more training and processing time, while limiting how complex the inspections can be. Today, integrating artificial intelligence lets us go further: more inspection points, more defects detected and more reliable inspections, without increasing acquisition times.
We can perform 7 inspections in under 500 milliseconds.
What does it bring to your development work?
BB: Working with an SDK and open code gives us, above all, the freedom to build our own vision solutions and put all our domain expertise into them. The SDK also makes it easy to duplicate an application, which saves us a lot of time during machine commissioning.
